We need a medic!” Doctor Cleaver reacts now, jumping up, as if the fear and panic in Sasha’s voice has got through to him. Doctor Fong has clearly seen it too. She shouts, “Skylar! Grab one of those big first aid kits and get out of there!” You leap for the shelves but, because you had forgotten about the reduced gravity, you fly across the room and crash into them full force. You turn round and see that Doctor Cleaver is after you. You grab one of the bulky first aid kits that is far lighter than you expected and decide to use the low gravity to help you. You jump straight for the door. Doctor Cleaver claws at you but doesn’t manage to catch hold. In a moment you are through the door and bounding down the corridor, listening to Sasha shouting. As you point it at him, something really strange appears on the screen. It shows the different temperatures as different colours. The skin should all be the same colour and showing as around 33˚C. Instead, there is a white spot at the top of the nose, and it is showing as 41.3˚C. You tell Doctor Fong. “Oh goodness me,” she replies. “What is it?” you say. “What does that mean?” “Skylar, that’s where the internet implant is. We put it in through the sinuses and it’s useful to be close to the optic nerve. It shouldn’t be hot. The only time I have seen this before is when one was broken and was stuck transferring too much data constantly. Test it again will you?” You scan him again and tell Doctor Fong the result. “It’s at 41.4˚C now.” Doctor Fong sighs and sounds really worried for the first time. “Unless we can fix this, the implant is just going to keep getting hotter and hotter. As it is affecting everyone, there must be some external device that is hacking their implants.” She taps
