You point it out to Doctor Kumar. “Oh, right. That’s interesting. It must be broadcasting something on that wavelength. Let me look up what they are used for… Oh my goodness! That’s the one used by the internet The screen flashes up ‘Executing slew…’ and you feel some vague vibrations coming through the equipment. Outside, several large telescopes and dishes are all moving together. You see a timer counting down until the object will be in position and you think ‘come on… come on…’ as the telescopes take seemingly forever to line up. Finally, with just three seconds to spare, the screen says ‘Alignment achieved’ before a moment later ‘Object acquired. Tracking commenced’. You tell Doctor Kumar. “That’s great Kiran. Well done. Right, I’m bringing up your displays on my screen…” His voice trails away as you both stare. You were expecting some asteroid that had been captured by the Moon’s gravity. Instead, you hear yourself say, “That’s a spaceship.” Dr Kumar sounds hoarse as he replies, “It’s too small. Well, too small for people to be inside it. But you’re right.
